Her: The reality around the corner

I have actually watched the movie Her (2013) multiple times. I first watched it while I was serving the military in Korea, when I was a mere private second-class soldier who had no ideas what was going on. The movie was not as striking as it was when I watched it again during freshman year in a class. An introvert, quiet man falling in love with the AI (Artificial Intelligence)? It felt too fictional in 2013 but in 2016, I could sense such phenomenon happening in the very near future. The movie is about Theodore, an introvert man who works at a company writing personalized letters for clients, who is introduced to an AI system who calls herself Samantha. Starting as an assistant at work and home, Samantha eventually becomes a part of Theodore's love to the point they would have sex (Human and AI software?). Perhaps the reality is coming faster than we imagine. Siri of Apple, Bixsby of Samsung, Google Home and so on, the list of AI-based electronics and housing appliance is endless as of now. I cannot express how shocked I was upon seeing my friend ordering Google Home in his house to play some random 'chill' song and the AI immediately turned on Sam Smith.

Online dating is inevitably a major component of Internet market and the trend is expected to continue. As of now, the computer and AI are helping us to match with most compatible potential partners online in which the outcome really depends on both humans. The AI would continue to be upgraded to the point they would, hopefully, conduct real-time analysis and give me tips on how to actually get numbers of this goddess I see at my 10 o'clock direction in near future.
